The President Says Thank You

A thank you to everyone who worked to make America a better place over the past election season.

I really like this video. This is the guy I voted for.

Again for the private to grow the government must shrink.

You took basic economics, right? You understand that the U.S. economy is not a zero-sum game? You understand that you can have both the government create jobs AND the private sector create jobs at the same time, right? I mean, that is exactly what happened over the past few quarters.

I talking about business people that build real companies.

Wait, you get to pick what businesses are “real” otherwise it doesn’t count?  Why is it that only arguments, facts and evidence presented by Republicans are “real?” Every single time a Democrat makes a good argument, the other side must resort assertions that the facts and evidence being used are “not real.”

Well, the “real” Virginia didn’t carry the Old Dominion for Mr. McCain. And quite frankly, I think that a lot of your neighbors with government and government-funded jobs think that their paychecks and family’s financial security are plenty “real.”

    Get real.

The country is very very red at moment. What you are saying does not reflect in the voters.

And if you are happy with Miller and McG they are sure to lose next election.

First and there is a long list his opponent can use, but one the voters will worry about, how do we know he won’t try and jump ship again, that is going to be a major problem for him. Don’t get me wrong He and his wife the few times I have been around him and his family they are a wonderful family.

But he is going to have to run on his record and and I can make a big negative list on that one, and the stunts he has pulled. Not his wonderful family.

The old canard that “Obama hasn’t done anything” to help the economy, and it was that damn stimulus to blame.

The stimulus that created more net jobs in 18 months than were created in the 8 years prior. The stimulus that kept a “Great Recession” from becoming a second “Great Depression”. The stimulus that gave practically everyone in America a tax cut.

But he also pushed through that evil government healthcare system, too, right (even though there’s no healthcare being provided by the government)? All that excess spending trying to keep people healthy. Damn, it’s so much better for the economy when people without healthcare go to the emergency room. It doesn’t cost us anything to do that [snark].

And Supervisors Miller and McGimsey ARE doing their jobs, and doing them well. I would be extremely proud to have either of them as my supervisor.

    I’m done venting.

Just how long do you think these grants and stimulus money is going to sustain the economy. When the money is gone then what raise taxes again.

And you hit it. Wall street people are not real business people they are basically thieves.

I talking about business people that build real companies.

The way you are thinking the dems on this board will be by by next election. I don’t anyone that will vote for Miller and we all did the last time. Miller only won the last election because nobody wanted Snow back. And Miller has done some pretty crazy stunts that come back to haunt him next election.

When people start losing their jobs here because of defense cutbacks and reducing the government you will find unemployment go way up here. And actually it is starting to happen. Only way the economy will grow until that happens.  I already know people in my neighborhood that already lost their jobs and many more are worried. So those employment figures could change drastically soon just in time foe the next election. Again for the private to grow the government must shrink. As far as the infrastructure they are one time projects. The wake call will be the next election again just like this last election. I would not call Bush the smartest duck on the block either. Look how he ran some of his businesses. And if it was not for papa bush he would of been a failure in business. I am a independent much better then being either a republican or democrat.

    duck on the block

It’s definitely the economy, and President Obama has done a ton to help fix it. Infrastructure projects, MILLIONS for Loudoun and Leesburg (jobs a the Cornwall medical center, funding for teacher salaries, etc.), extension of unemployment benefits, tax cuts for nearly everyone in Loudoun, not to mention the homeland security and green job growth that is sustaining Loudoun’s remarkably low unemployment.

Business people aren’t good at fixing the economy. If they were, IT WOULD BE FIXED. After all, it was the “MBA President” who got us into this mess by letting the “smartest guys in the room” on Wall Street have their way with the American consumer’s house and savings.

A mess like this, like every enormous mess, takes a steady government to fix. With President Obama, we have that government.

Similarly, Supervisors Miller and McGimsey have acted as they saw best for their constituencies in Loudoun and for our future. That’s more than could be said for the previous Board, which sold the farm to developers while promising more services and lower taxes for all. They might as well promised unicorns and free cake while they were at it. Our Supervisor ARE doing their job. If they weren’t doing their job, and doing it well, no one would be mad at them!

The nature of governing is making choices that are going to make people unhappy, and then sticking to them. I am glad our Democratic officials are doing the tough job of governing, thankless as it may be.

    But not ever ever again.

Right now Romney the business guy should be our next president. Certainly not the circus clown Palin who has done nothing but self promotion since losing the vice presidency.

Number one problem in America is the economy “Stupid”

Obama is not fixing it, only extremely incredibly expensive band aids on the economy. Obama is more in love with the job then doing the job. We have Miller and McGimsey here that also more in Love with the job then doing it, most likely like Obama not get reelected.

It is the economy “Stupid” first. Miller trying to run against Rust in his first year in office very very dumb and has pissed off a lot of people that voted for you. Even in Loudoun it is taxes and the economy.  Not the energy and environmental programs, That will not get those two reelected they can be addressed when the economy comes back.
